Bruce Lee’s former residence in No. 41 Cumberland Rd, Kawloon Tong, Hong Kong, is to be developed into a museum dedicated to the memory of the kung fu and movie legend.
Steering away from the theme park approach, or the favoured wax museum approach, we proposed two strategies:
Strategy 1- An Inclusive Museum
The existing building is altered to create multifunctional spaces that can host a variety of events to encourage inclusive and active participation from the general public, making it a living museum dedicated to Bruce Lee’s ideals.
Strategy 2- Information Ribbon
The second strategy involves placing Bruce Lee’s life story into a coherent sets of architectural spaces that servers to inform and educate the public, unified by a single ‘ribbon’ element that directs the visitors through out the museum.
